July has been an incredibly lucky month — I was chosen to be an official product tester for Lumibricks’ latest release! Just a day after accepting the challenge, my test kit was shipped out, and it flew across the world to Australia in record time. After a week of waiting with growing anticipation, I finally brought it home for the ultimate unboxing moment.

The new Vintage Tram L9084 draws its design inspiration from a charming European town, with the tram itself modeled after the 1898 Poznań tram (Model: Bergische Stahlindustrie Type I). As someone living in Melbourne and deeply in love with tram culture, this was pure temptation — resistance was futile. Even if I hadn’t been selected as a tester, I absolutely would’ve bought it the moment it hit the shelves.

The tram comes in a gorgeous retro red-and-white color palette, accented with wood tones and gold detailing. The design nods to Prague’s classic trams, giving the whole set a nostalgic European flair that perfectly captures the romantic charm of its small-town inspiration.

With 1,274 pieces in total, this build is moderately challenging — ideal for beginners who are confident with their hands, even without prior experience. The instruction manual is as thick as a school textbook and thoughtfully includes 1:1 diagrams of easily confused parts, making it much easier to avoid mistakes. As long as you don’t get too "creative" or decide to “try something different,” and just follow the steps faithfully, you’ll be just fine. And here's the best part — all the printed elements are pre-printed, so no stickers! For those of us who suffer from shaky hands or sticker anxiety, this is a massive win.

Inside the tram station, the posters give a nod to past Lumibricks releases, while a mysterious map on the platform seems to hint at upcoming additions to the town series. Yes, there are Easter eggs — because apparently, Lumibricks knows how to keep us entertained on every level!

And the story doesn't end when the tram finishes its daily run. By night, the stationary tram transforms into a romantic bar and restaurant. It's here that Susan, the local antique store owner with a bunch of red roses, has meet Jean-Michel. Somewhere in the background, someone is pouring their heart out at the mic... Yes, there’s a whole story built into the set!

As the leading name in light-up building sets, Lumibricks has truly stepped up its game with this release. Beyond the signature day-to-night lighting transitions, this tram also features interchangeable carriages — offering new possibilities for play and customization. Fun, immersive, and stunning in detail — Lumibricks has done it again.

Bravo, Lumibricks. This one’s a masterpiece.
